Family birthday piccy - daddy pig's car ride at Peppa Pig World |
I thought that turning 4 this week deserved a much delayed blog entry. And what a week it has been! It has also been half term week so it's felt like my birthday has lasted five days - not bad really! Here are the highlights since I became a big girl...

Of course I woke up with a smile on Weds - after collecting the balloon from the end of my bed I went to wake up mum and dad |
There was just enough time to open presents in bed with the family before we got in the car...
To go to
Peppa Pig's World! Once we battled around the M25 we got to Paulton's Family Theme Park near Southampton (about 2 hours drive) just after 10.30am, and ready to let rip! Peppa Pig's World is in one corner of the park, and what with it being half term it was screaming (literally) with little ones. There were some big queues too, so after doing a couple of rides we decided to head out to the other bits of the park where we could walk on to most rides without even queuing. When we returned to PPW towards the end of the day the queues had died down so we made the most of the rides there. All of it was brilliant, and when it closed at 4.30pm we headed back up the motorway via McDonald's before hitting the sack at the ungodly hour of nearly 9pm....A great day!

Please can we stop taking photos and get on some rides! |

Daddy pig's ride - just about dodging the red traffic lights
We were all pretty shattered on Thursday, but we summoned up enough energy to go bowling in High Wycombe. It was probably the lowest scoring bowling game in history....which must be the only reason why daddy won...

Bet you think I can't lift this? |
Of course it wasn't any ordinary day.....when we got back there was just time to help daddy carve some pumpkins before going round to our neighbours who were having a Halloween party. Afterwards we all went trick or treating around the streets of Tring in our costumes. Those of you who know me will understand that I do like to be carried around quite frequently as I get tired from walking - not so this night as there were sweets up for grabs and I wanted to be at the front of the queue!

Trick or treat? |
It was another late night, but undeterred on Friday we took a trip into London. I was very excited about this, although I had no idea I was going to be dragged around the National Portrait Gallery and the Tate Modern (folks, you could have told me!). Despite that I enjoyed the street entertainers and my pizza birthday lunch.

Saturday was a bit of a dossing day - we were saving our energy for fireworks (and wrestling as it turned out - see my sister's blog!) in the evening. And I had to muster up my last bit of half term energy for my party at our home on Sunday. Not a huge affair like Nadia's earlier this year, but still 13 kids and about 10 adults meant that it was a fun packed 2 hours in the Connelly household. We did some arts and crafts at first swiftly followed by pin the tail on the donkey, then headed out into the garden for a gold coin treasure hunt, across the river (a game where you need to run from one side to another without being hit by a ball thrown by an adult), and the obligatory egg and spoon race. After that it was back inside for pass the parcel, some food (yey!), musical statues and 'ta ra everyone, here's your party bag'. I was on top form of course, that is until I realised there was no party bag for me!

Party food at my party - well I'm going to pose even if no-one else is |

And just enough time for one last Happy Birthday (to me!!)
And that was about that! What a week! Back to nursery tomorrow. There's just enough time to update you on my medical news - I had two trips the week before half term. The first was for my feet, and I am now getting a new set of splints that will come up higher than my ankle to see if that helps support my walking better (as even with the current splints I tend to put pressure on the insides too much). Later on in the week I went to Great Ormond Street hospital with mummy to see if they can help with my weeing problems. After much confusion (where they reperformed the test I had at Hemel a couple of months earlier where I have to have a sensor inserted into my pants that sets off a buzz if I wee - this time nothing went off!), a senior doctor came in and inspected me and could see I was pooling wee and that things weren't normal around there. They said I will need to have an MRI scan and a cystogram to get some sort of accurate picture of the flow around my kidneys and bladder and that this would be scheduled as quickly as possible (there was talk about it even being last week, but it never materialised). I think we are all happy that after months and years of trying to get progress on these things it looks like we might finally be getting somewhere...
Anyway, I'm off to enjoy being 4 years old. I'll try not to leave it so long next time.
Loads of love,
Rosa (4!)
