One of my less grumpier moments this Christmas break
Happy New Year everyone! How was it? Well I was determined to stay up for it this year particularly as I've been under the weather this week. I woke up (for the second time) at about two minutes to midnight and mummy just about managed to insert a paracetomol suppository just before the midnight gongs. I then wailed for about another half an hour before going to bed. I say bed, but basically I kept mummy awake all night as I wouldn't go into my own bed (I have a nasty cold and eye infection and it's just making me downright grumpy). It was certainly a night to remember.
I spent a week in the North West and saw lots of relos and friends. It was difficult at times as I often wouldn't go to anyone else (which meant mummy and daddy couldn't even go up the road to the shops and leave me with nan and grandad) because I was feeling so yukky, but in-between grumpiness I managed to have a laugh or two. Here are some highlights:
Fascinated by Grandma Moira's lampshade
Being silly with Uncle Andy at the dinner table
Me n big sis playing at Nana Noz and Grandad John's
The Christmas break has given me lots more time to practise my standing (although mummy and daddy are still a bit worried that my feet look a bit wonky)
Trying to find a cd to replace Michael Buble at Grandad John's
I got lots of great presents - I am so lucky. Here's me with my Toy Story phone
I visit to William and Lydia's round the corner from Nana and Grandad's - William was very fond of kissing his little sis!
Me n Lydia (come on Lyds, suck yer thumb!)
Sometimes it was all so exhausting (and I didn't need a bed)
Playing on Nadia's keyboard on Christmas eve
So up to New Year's Eve everything was going ok and Nana Marg and Grumpy Mike had been great hosts (although we all suspect they are grateful for the respite now we have gone!). Today after travelling down back home I was no better so mummy rang the doctors to see what to do and they gave me an appointment at Ealing hospital to see someone there at 9pm. They said on the phone that it was empty and we would be seen straight away but we should have known better - the room was full (nowhere even to sit) and full of people coughing and a big sign saying there were delays in seeing patients because of the swine flu outbreak! Daddy, who had taken me, decided to turn back and head home as there was probably more risk me getting sicker there than seeing someone to help me get better!
Still here's to things improving in 2011!
Lots of love,
