Saturday 1st January 2011

One of my less grumpier moments this Christmas break

Happy New Year everyone! How was it? Well I was determined to stay up for it this year particularly as I've been under the weather this week. I woke up (for the second time) at about two minutes to midnight and mummy just about managed to insert a paracetomol suppository just before the midnight gongs. I then wailed for about another half an hour before going to bed. I say bed, but basically I kept mummy awake all night as I wouldn't go into my own bed (I have a nasty cold and eye infection and it's just making me downright grumpy). It was certainly a night to remember.

I spent a week in the North West and saw lots of relos and friends. It was difficult at times as I often wouldn't go to anyone else (which meant mummy and daddy couldn't even go up the road to the shops and leave me with nan and grandad) because I was feeling so yukky, but in-between grumpiness I managed to have a laugh or two. Here are some highlights:

The Christmas break has given me lots more time to practise my standing (although mummy and daddy are still a bit worried that my feet look a bit wonky)

Trying to find a cd to replace Michael Buble at Grandad John's

I got lots of great presents - I am so lucky. Here's me with my Toy Story phone

I visit to William and Lydia's round the corner from Nana and Grandad's - William was very fond of kissing his little sis!

Sometimes it was all so exhausting (and I didn't need a bed)

Playing on Nadia's keyboard on Christmas eve

So up to New Year's Eve everything was going ok and Nana Marg and Grumpy Mike had been great hosts (although we all suspect they are grateful for the respite now we have gone!). Today after travelling down back home I was no better so mummy rang the doctors to see what to do and they gave me an appointment at Ealing hospital to see someone there at 9pm. They said on the phone that it was empty and we would be seen straight away but we should have known better - the room was full (nowhere even to sit) and full of people coughing and a big sign saying there were delays in seeing patients because of the swine flu outbreak! Daddy, who had taken me, decided to turn back and head home as there was probably more risk me getting sicker there than seeing someone to help me get better!

Still here's to things improving in 2011!

Lots of love,

Friday 17th December

Hello poppets! These days I am mostly pulling myself up on the ledge underneath the TV and I have mastered the art of climbing down the two stairs in the hallway. I also really enjoy flapping around my sister's animal flashcards!

Spinning in the park

And I LOVE Christmas - lots of sparkly things and I have now seen Santa 3 times! Last weekend we went to the farm and saw him there and then on Thursday I saw him at the Shooting Stars Christmas party.

Yeah!
Wheeee!
And of course, I only poo for daddy!

Enjoy the last week before Chrimbo!

Tuesday 7th December

Christmas is coming - yey!

I thought you might like to see pictures of my visit to see Santa! Nana Moira is down too - hooray!

No chance of being cold with the layers I've got on

We saw Santa at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park (that's where we went a couple of weeks ago with my sis). It wasn't very busy which was good and it meant we didn't have to queue to see him.

I couldn't stop smiling

Happy Birthday, Isla

Had a lovely time at Isla's first birthday party on Saturday. She got lots of lovely presents (including the one in the photo above) and there were lots of people.

Right hand on green...forget it, I'm off!

I'm not called Rosa the Poser for nothing you know

A proper sing along

Oh, and thought you might like to see this video from when I was on the Wirral - I was trying to master the art of shaking...

Ta ra for now!

Sunday 7th November

Never a dull moment with Nana and Grandad on the Wirral

As you'll see on my sister's blog we've been back on the Wirral for the weekend. It was quite cold but nice and sunny too, so you get to see some photos of me in a woolly hat!

I've been a bit sore with teething of late - with me with mummy post a teething whinge

I even got to see and play with Heswall Henry - he's been quite sick recently but on Saturday he was in fine fettle

Nana and grandad got me a fantastic big red bus for my birthday

I even got time to read the paper

Looking cute on the swings

I've had a great time despite being a bit troubled by my teeth.

Don't forget to sponsor daddy who is growing a moustache in November in aid of prostate cancer (follow the link on my sister's blog). I'm not so sure that having a big nose and a moustache is a good luck (I've seen pictures of Ian Rush you know), and to top it all off he's developed a cold sore on the corner of his mouth since he started growing it this week.

Fish...
And my crawling skills are getting better and better...

See ya soon,

Saturday 30th October: I am 1!!

Happy Birthday to me!!

I woke up this morning to find I was one year old - how did that happen?!

Lucky me ( - ;

Not only had someone turned our lounge into a (scary) grotto overnight, but also I had lots of cards and presents to open up - thanks so much everybody.

Yey!

It was ace getting to open everything and I even let my big sis help me open some of them.

See - I told you someone had been busy decorating the lounge

Once I'd open my pressies and cards and got breakfast out of the way I got to wear my special outfit - a binman's uniform....oops I mean a pumpkin suit (something to do with Halloween - never heard of it myself but there weren't half a lot of pumpkins knocking around our flat today).

Birthday pumpkin

To celebrate my birthday I had a few friends come round, which was lovely and everyone sang happy birthday to me as mummy brought in my spider birthday cake.

Oi daddy, hands off, that's my spider cake

Marion and Bruno came with Isla - amazing Marion never made a fuss of having a knife through her head

Isla will be 1 in 2 weeks - she looked fab today in her Halloween gear

Dan tries a moody pose whilst I get a cuddle from Anna-Lisa

Sofia turned 1 two weeks ago and was on fine form

Auntie Nadia gives me a cuddle despite my ridiculous outfit

What a busy day all in all. Thanks to everyone for making it so special!

Lots of love,

Sunday 17th October

Me and my buddy, Isla

I've had a busy time since I last wrote. I am just in the process of perfecting going from my belly to all fours and then sitting on my bum. I do it all in a bit of a wobbly way, but mummy and daddy look impressed.

Hang on, I'm not even posing!

I've been trying to step up the pace since I saw Isla, Marion and Bruno's little monster, a couple of weeks ago. She is younger than me and already crawling around the place, so I need to get a shift on!

Wot you looking at? Leave me alone!

I did go for a developmental check up at Ealing hospital the week before last. The consultant said I was a little bit behind, largely as a result of poor muscle tone in my limbs. But that's not really a lot to worry about and there is no panic - everything else is fine, and with coming out a bit early I can't be expected to be out in front.

We've had a couple of quiet weekends as mummy has been a bit poorly (just a cold but with me and my big sis it can feel a lot worse!). I've had a few random nights of waking up in the middle of the night recently because I now have my first tooth- yey (sort of)!

All the better to eat my rice cake with!

I'm in to so much more these days, particularly banging musical instruments and generally making lots of babbling noises.

I do like a good tickle

My sis has been a real good laugh and this weekend she cut her nose quite badly but nobody has a clue why!

Messing with my sis Nadia

Nadia tries out some groovy moves in the lounge (with a battered nose)

Have a great week people!

A bientot,

Tuesday 21st September

Mummy and I enjoy a spot of lunch

It's been a while I know, and I'm growing up fast! It's been a busy month since I last wrote, but you'll know that from my sister's blog. This weekend just gone I was a spoilt child as sis was in the Shooting Stars hospice so I got to spend lots of time with mummy and daddy....

...and Dora

I was supposed to have my first ever swim on Sunday but when we all woke up on Sunday morning we were told that Nadia wasn't very well and because of infection control we all had to leave!

Playing on the bed in mummy and daddy's room at Shooting Stars
I'm sitting up nicely these days and babbling away. I'm still very much addicted to TV, not matter where mummy and daddy place me I can turn my head to find it! I still like to slide around the lounge floor backwards and I'm getting much more fussy with my food - I like to push a lot more food away and I like stuff to bite rather than any of that mushy stuff.

And I like to wear some of my food too

Having a ball

It was mummy's birthday last week and we all went for a spot of lunch.

So much choice!

I want some of their food!
And the weekend before I had lots of fun with a hat at a street party.

It's definitely too big
See you soon!
